The Works of Wyoming store on Second Street in Laramie is opening a new gallery space next to the existing shop.  The new gallery has three spaces -- one large space and two smaller ones (tiny, really).

Their plan is to schedule exhibits by Wyoming artists in these spaces for a month at a time, beginning in May.  With three spaces, they can handle three shows at a time.  At present, they are soliciting artists to exhibit in May, June and July.  After that, it may be a juried process, with a small jury fee.

Artists will do their own hanging.  Exhibits must be up the first day of the month and down the last day of the month.  For each exhibit, WOW will organize a reception and do all the advertising for the show.

The gallery will be open only on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, but will be staffed during those hours.  WOW carries full insurance.

All items must be for sale.  Items sold will remain on exhibit until the end of the month.  WOW will take a 40% commission for nonmembers (I think it's 30% for members) and will handle all the sales, including collecting sales tax.  They will also ship pieces to customers.  Artists will be paid in the month following the sale.  Each artist must complete a W-9 and 1099 form if sales exceed $600.

I think this is a great opportunity for LAQers to get our work out there.  Can we talk about putting together a show for July or August?  With the 150th anniversary celebration, there will be a lot of activity downtown this summer.
