Old Business:

  1. Dolly researched teachers offering lectures, classes, or workshops via Zoom. The web sites of those who might work best for LAQ are:

https://www.cindygrisdela.com/

https://lyrickinard.com/home/

https://www.clairebenn.com/

An email survey will be sent out to members to determine how we proceed.

She also mentioned a site with lots of $38 classes - video only, no teacher access or student interaction. https://gallicreative.com/

  1.  Since we plan expenditures this year, we will continue to collect annual dues. Send $20 to Brett Selmer, 2608 E Park Ave, Laramie, WY  82070-4862

  1. Discussion about challenges included utilizing Deb Donnell’s donated fabric in a fall book club with Artful Improv by Cindy Grisdela.

  1. We have several Hospice quilts in progress and Barbara is making labels. The requested size is approximately 58” x 72”. It’s better for the quilts to be more narrow than wide to avoid getting caught up in bed rails or tangled in legs. Brett has another pattern that would work. Mary K. continues to provide pro bono quilting for LAQ Hospice quilts with 13 in queue. Several volunteered to help with binding. Our current Hospice contact is Lisa Shipley, their volunteer coordinator. Update: Hospice re-opened Monday, February 15. Mary C. and Brett are looking into an optional (virtual?) workday mid-to-late March.

  1. Dye Days at Dolly’s may be scheduled for August.

  1. Mary K. will provide a Photographing Your Work demo in the fall

This is first in another series I'm doing to use up tatted circles in a bunch of different colors and patterns that were made as experiments by "master tatter" Mary Maynard who was from Missouri but lived at least the last 20 years of her life in Laramie. She about 10 years ago and her daughter was going to toss all her unfinished tatted experiments along with much of her other stuff--Mary was a classic depression-era person who collected lots of things and parted with almost nothing.

Her protegĂ© and friend, Isabel Glass, offered to "host" a sale of Mary's things.  I bought all of the tatted experiments -- three plastic containers that normally you'd put beads in, maybe, but Mary used them to organize her tatting experiments by color.  Mary self-published two books on tatting, and she designed note cards using the tatted circles as flowers that we sold in the LPM until they ran out.  I'm trying to think of different things to do with the tatted circles, but they do lend themselves to be florals.  There are lots more where these came from, but no greens, and these are all the pink ones.
